Water, Mor and Juice: A Daily Gesture from Thirumal Marugan Temple Bhakta Jana Sabha

For almost 10 years now, a quiet yet deeply impactful act of service has been taking place in Nanganallur. Every morning from around 9 a.m., members of the Arulmigu Thirumal Marugan Temple Bhakta Jana Sabha distribute water, mor (buttermilk), and juice to the public—especially during the sweltering summer months.

Other dedicated members—Manimaran, Raja, Srinivasan, and Abi Raam—have also been instrumental in keeping this tradition alive. Whether it’s a passerby, a delivery worker, or an elderly resident, everyone is offered a cool drink with genuine warmth.

Simple, consistent, and rooted in service, this effort stands as a quiet symbol of care and commitment in our neighborhood.

Speaking to Nanganallur Connect,Mr. Krishnan, one of the core members, reflected on how the initiative began simply out of a desire to serve the community. “We are distributing water and mor (Buttermilk) for so many years, and even during covid, We distributed food cooked by the temple sabha in Temple kitchen to many people. All credit goes to our Thirumal Marugan, He is the one making us work for the people” he shared.
