Suburban Train Services Reduced, Timings Altered
The changes are due to ongoing work at Chennai Egmore station. Revised schedule attached inside

Suburban train operations at Chennai will undergo temporary changes following redevelopment works being carried out at Chennai Egmore station, as per an official press release issued by the railway authorities. The revised arrangements will be in force from February 20 to April 5, 2026, covering a period of 45 days.
As part of the changes, suburban services that were earlier handled at Platforms 10 and 11 at Chennai Egmore will now be operated from Platforms 5 and 6 for the entire duration of the redevelopment work. This change applies to EMU services running between Chennai Beach and Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Arakkonam sections.
During this period, all existing suburban services on the Chennai Beach–Tambaram-Chengalpattu-Arakkonam corridor will function with revised train numbers and modified timings, as notified in the temporary EMU and MEMU schedule released along with the press note. Railway officials have also clarified that there will be no separate Sunday timetable during the 45-day block period.
Revised Time-Table given below.
