Serve, Smash, Spirit! Voltas Colony Badminton Tournament Ends on a High Note

The Voltas Colony Play Ground was buzzing with excitement this week as the Voltas Colony Badminton Tournament came to a successful close. Organized by the Voltas Colony Welfare Association in collaboration with SRK, the tournament brought together budding and seasoned talents from across the neighbourhood.

The event featured only doubles matches across two categories — Seniors (Men) and Juniors. The Junior division was especially heartwarming, with both boys’ and girls’ teams putting up impressive performances and showcasing their growing skills. The Senior men’s doubles matches, on the other hand, were marked by fast-paced rallies and well-matched duels that kept the crowd on edge.

One of the highlights of the event was the way the entire community turned up — not just to compete but also to cheer. Families, friends, and fellow players lined the sidelines, adding life and energy to the tournament atmosphere.

Juniors - Keerthi and Yazhini
Seniors - Sai and Sanjay

At the end of the tournament:

• All participants were awarded medals in appreciation of their efforts.

• Runners-up received elegant trophies, and

• Winners walked away with big trophies and a cash prize, a proud moment for the champions!
