Rain and Sun Roof with Extended Coverage Installed in Anjaneyar Temple
After recent drainage works, the front-road covering has been restored and expanded, offering full-length shade for devotees and vendors.

The entrance area of the 32-feet Sri Anjaneya Temple in Nanganallur has undergone a notable change with the reinstallation of the large overhead shed. The earlier structure, removed temporarily for drainage work, has now been replaced with a broader version that covers the entire front road leading toward the temple.
The new shed gives the pathway a continuous shaded stretch, making movement easier for devotees and vendors throughout the day. Market stalls, flower shops, and visitors now operate under a uniform roofed section, creating a more structured walkway when compared to earlier weeks. Overall, the extended covering has changed the look and feel of the temple’s entrance zone, especially during busy hours, while a few practical adjustments may further improve the experience for everyone using the space.

The roofing also includes a rainwater flow arrangement designed to direct water away from the central pathway. While one side seems to be functioning as intended, a few shopkeepers on the opposite stretch have mentioned that water still tends to fall near their shops during rainfall. They hope this can be looked into so that the entire stretch benefits equally.
