Navaratri Spirit Shines Bright at Swasthik Madar Sangam’s Celebration

Voltas Colony, Nanganallur witnessed a vibrant celebration of devotion and culture yesterday as Swasthik Madar Sangam hosted its Navaratri Celebrations at the 1st Street Park. The event began around 3 PM with a serene Lakshmi Pooja, setting the tone for an evening of bhakti and community spirit.

The cultural programmes that followed showcased an impressive line-up of performances. Guests and residents alike enjoyed soulful Carnatic songs by Mrs. Padma Venkateswaran and Mrs. Jaya Ganesh, and mesmerising Veena recitals by Mrs. Anuradha Manikantan, Mrs. Priyanka, and Ms. V.M. Sahana Sri. Dr. R. Radhika, Carnatic vocalist from Sree Chakra School of Music, and Mrs. N. Sri Ranjani rendered beautiful devotional songs, lifting the spiritual energy of the evening.

A special highlight was the dance performance choreographed by Mrs. Swetha Jayashree from Bhuvalaya Dance Academy, which received an enthusiastic response from the crowd. Adding to the occasion’s significance, Ward 167 Councillor Mrs. Durga Devi Natarajan and Ward 167 Secretary Mr. J Natarajan graced the event, encouraging the performers and interacting with the residents.

The celebration also included the honouring of Mrs. Sundari Sankar, veteran teacher, for her contributions to the community. The entire evening reflected the true essence of Navaratri - devotion, art, and togetherness.
