Nanganallur Likely to Get Job Fair Every Year

The smiles on the faces of most of applicants walking out of the Nehru Boys Higher Secondary School at Nanganallur proved that the Mega Job Fair jointly organised by Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of Thiruvanmiyur, Nanganallur, Adambakkam, Chennai Vibrant and Adyar in association with Equitas Developmental Initiatives Trust on Saturday (August 30) was a success.

The event began with inspiring addresses from the Guests of Honour, including Mr. John Alex, Head of CSR, Equitas Small Finance Bank, Mrs. Arathi Narayanan - Past Chairman of Dist 323 (IWC), Mrs. Devi Mathimaran - Chairman Dist 323 (IWC), alongside presidents of other Inner Wheel Clubs, who highlighted the importance of community-driven initiatives in creating career opportunities.

As a bonanza to Nanganallur for the good response, both the Inner Wheel Clubs and Equitas Developmental Initiatives Trust are contemplating to make the fair an annual affair i.e., it will be held every year.
Data provided by the organisers show that over 75% of the candidates who turned up for the fair were selected and close to 25% of the total number of applicants were issued with offer letters on the spot at the fair in which totally 42 leading and prominent firms – TCS, Flipkart, giants from automobile sector, etc., participated.
Federation of Nanganallur Welfare Associations, President, Mr. S Chandrabose, along with Advisor, Mr. V Rama Rao, and Joint Secretary Rtn G Ravindran attended the event.

A steady stream of applicants was witnessed on the day from the start at 8 am to 2 pm.
So, those who have missed this year’s chance, use this break period to gain experience and expertise and get ready for the next year’s fair to win a job ticking all your boxes perfectly.

Some institutions, which had organised similar fairs in the past, said that the turnout would have been extremely high, but for the geopolitical tensions. All companies across the globe are waiting for the tariff trouble to settle down, to finalise expansion of their workforce to suit their future plans.

Mrs. Parvathy Ramesh, President of Inner Wheel Club of Thiruvanmiyur said, "Hosting this Job Fair, that too at the place where I studied, really means a lot to me. The reason for selecting Nehru School is mainly because of its easy accessibility from bus and train. I hope many people got benefitted through this job fair".

Mrs. Devi Mathimaran, District Chairman of Dist 323 Inner Wheel Club said, "I am a proud member of Inner Wheel Club of Nanganallur as this place made me who I am today - District Chairman! I am looking forward to host the job fair at Nanganallur every year."

Mr. John Alex, Head of CSR - Equitas Small Finance Bank said, "The biggest advantage of attending job fairs is that you get to meet the HR and selection committee directly, bypassing all the digital process and cutting the waiting period! I wish more job seekers make use of opportunities like these."
