Nanganallur Ladies Association's Connect with NextGen via Couplets & Colours

The skating rink, which generally used to be an evening paradise of kids, turned out to be a forum of Tirukkural and painting champs, courtesy Nanganallur Ladies Association aka Nanganallur Magalir Mandram. A little past 4:30 in the evening, the rink started witnessing a steady stream of women, next-gen Tamil talent and not to be mentioned a host of VIPs - Zone 12 Alandur Chairman Mr. N Chandran, Ward 167 Councillor Ms. Durga Devi Natarajan, Ward 167 Secretary Mr. Natarajan, transforming the venue into a thorough celebratory mood. Service Awards in recognition of ongoing projects Tirukkural sollungal parisu vellungal team - Ms. Kiruthiga Seenivasan, Ms. Lavanya Ramesh, Ms. Subha Ravisanker, Ms. Parimala Rajendran, Ms. Bharathy Swamy, Ms. Chamundeshwari & Ms. Radha Veraraghvan and tailoring teacher Mrs Akila were honoured during the occasion.

Twenty-seven winners of the Tirukkural and drawing competitions received books sponsored by senior member Kanchana Raman and each were honoured with trophies sponsored by NLA president Vasanthi Rajarajan. Around 140 students, who participated in the competitions, were presented with certificates along with a gift pack containing a pencil box, muffins and namkin sponsored by NLA members.

Other VIPs like LCWA Secretary Mr. Ravindran, Dr Srividhya Seenivasan and Auditor M.S Mahalakshmi were felicitated by the organisers for their invaluable support.

The organisers also extended their thanks to others sponsors Aarkha Sports Academy, Advocate Vijayakumar, Swarna Maligai, Thiraviam Coffee and Ananthi Stores.

Tirukkural Peravai President Mr Durai Narasimhan, Secretary K Periannan, Treasurer Rajarajan, Vice President Mr Mathimaran and Joint Secretary V Kaliyaperumal, who were among the important guests, were also honoured by the organisers.

After the welcome speech by Subha Ravishanker, top names like NLA president Mrs. Vasanthi Rajarajan, Secretary Mrs. Devi Mathimaran, Treasurer Mrs. Dhanalakshmi Narasimhan going down memory lane documenting the origin, progress and today's strength of the NLA.

Joint Secretary Mrs. Jamuna Gopi and Joint Treasurer Mrs, Kiruthiga Seenivasan also gave speeches about NLA.
Treasurer Mrs. Dhanalakshmi Narasimhan was praised for her efforts to organise the event.
Then followed compliments from Zone 12 Alandur Chairman Mr. N Chandran for the noble and non-committal service to all kinds of population by the NLA for the Nanganallur community.

Prominent personalities honoured during the event for their yeoman service and achievements include Devi Mathimaran for becoming District Chairman in Inner Wheel District 323. The Lifetime Achievement award was presented to senior members Mrs. Saroj Ramani and Mrs Bhanumathi Raghavan.
