Modern School’s First Alumni Reunion: Celebrating Decades of Togetherness

In what promises to be a heartwarming day of shared memories and reconnections, former students of Modern Senior Secondary School, Nanganallur, are set to host the very first alumni meet on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

Spanning batches from 1982 to 1992, the gathering will bring together past students, teachers and staff to celebrate decades of friendship and the spirit of Modern School. The reunion will take place at Varadhammal Chockalingam Kalyana Mahal, Madipakkam, and will feature music by the Modern Band and cultural performances from alumni families — adding a special personal touch to the celebration.

This special day is also made meaningful by the occasion of former principal Ms. Nagarathnam’s 80th birthday. A homam (religious ritual) is planned in her honour during the morning hours, followed by felicitation and then the alumni celebrations through midday.

Beyond just an event, this reunion reflects the enduring connection among Modernites — a bond that time has only strengthened. Attendees look forward to revisiting school-day memories, reconnecting with old classmates and teachers, and celebrating the shared legacy that unites them.
