The Divine Wedding: It is believed that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married on this day, symbolizing the union of Shiva (consciousness) and Shakti (energy).

Neelakanta Legend: According to Puranas, during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan), Shiva drank the deadly poison Aalakala to save the universe. This act turned his throat blue, earning him the name Neelakanta. Devotees observe this night in gratitude for his sacrifice.

The Linga Manifestation: Another legend states that Lord Shiva appeared as an infinite column of light (Shiva Linga) on this night, proving his supreme power to Brahma and Vishnu.
