FNWA Meets TANGEDCO Officials Over Frequent Power Outages in Nanganallur
New feeder and additional transformers expected to improve power supply stability, says Assistant Divisional Engineer
Residents of Nanganallur may soon see relief from the frequent power interruptions that have affected several neighbourhoods over the past month, particularly during night hours.
In response to concerns raised by residents, office bearers of the Federation of Nanganallur Welfare Associations (In photo from left - Mr. Rajagopal, Mr. Inbasekaran (4th from left), Mr. Prem Kumar, Mr. Rama Rao, Mr. Dayalan, Mr. Subramaniam) met TANGEDCO Assistant Divisional Engineer (AD) Mr. Kalidoss at his office to discuss the issue and seek a solution. The meeting was arranged following repeated complaints from residents about unscheduled power cuts that have caused inconvenience to families, children, and senior citizens. According to Federation representatives, Mr. Kalidoss patiently heard their concerns and provided a detailed explanation of the current power supply situation in the area.

He informed the delegation that Nanganallur currently has 225 transformers and that four additional transformers are being commissioned to strengthen the network. He also stated that a new power feeder at Raghava Nagar is nearing completion and is expected to become operational within the next 10 days.
Officials explained that the number of electricity consumers in the area has increased significantly and currently stands at 27,653. The frequent interruptions are primarily due to overload conditions in the existing system.
FNWA representatives thanked the TANGEDCO official for spending nearly an hour addressing their concerns and providing clarity on the measures being undertaken to strengthen the power infrastructure in Nanganallur.
