Right from homes to tea shops, and across WhatsApp groups and street corners, one topic has taken over conversations across Tamil Nadu - SIR, short for Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls by the Election Commission of India (ECI). It’s not the routine voter list correction or yearly update that we’re used to - this time, it’s something much bigger and more detailed.  Officials have already begun visiting households across Chennai and other districts, verifying names, addresses, and voter ID details directly with residents.

Online Facility for SIR Forms
Election Commission launches online facility for filing SIR enumeration forms The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched an easy online facility for voters through its official website - voters.eci.gov.in.

As per a press release by Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik, voters can log in using their registered mobile number or EPIC number and verify their identity with an OTP. The “Fill Enumeration Form” option will be visible only if the voter’s electoral details match their Aadhaar information. Once the form is filled and submitted, users are directed to an e-sign page for final authentication.
