Digital Train Indication Boards Installed at Pazhavanthangal Station
Installed earlier at Pazhavanthangal station, the digital Train Indication Boards are now part of a broader suburban upgrade across Chennai.

New digital Train Indication Boards have been installed at Pazhavanthangal railway station as part of ongoing efforts by Southern Railway’s Chennai Division to enhance commuter convenience with real-time train information. The LED display boards show train timings, destinations, platform details and other updates, in three languages (Tamizh, English, Hindi) helping daily passengers better plan their journeys. The boards are designed for clear visibility, even during peak hours and various lighting conditions.

Similar digital boards have also been installed at several other suburban stations across the Chennai Division, reflecting a broader push to modernise information systems on the suburban rail network. A frequent passenger at Pazhavanthangal noted, “The boards are really useful and make it easier to track trains. Sometimes the timing seems slightly off, but if that gets corrected, this system will be very helpful for daily commuters.”
While digital upgrades at stations nationwide often align with railway modernisation programmes such as the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, this suburban board installation has been introduced under Southern Railway’s existing passenger information improvement efforts.
