Chennai suburban train services will see temporary changes from February 24, 2026, following ongoing infrastructure works at Chennai Egmore. As part of the works, Platform Lines 10 and 11 will remain blocked, leading to a revised timetable and reduced number of train services on select routes.

The changes primarily affect commuters travelling on the Chennai Beach – Tambaram - Chengalpattu - Arakkonam corridor, a key route for daily passengers from Nanganallur and surrounding localities. Along with timing revisions, some suburban services have been curtailed, and a few AC EMU trains between Chennai Beach and Tambaram have been temporarily cancelled.

To reduce passenger inconvenience, special EMU shuttle services have been introduced between Egmore / St. Thomas Mount and Guduvancheri / Chengalpattu. In addition, certain special EMU trains will skip halts at Pallavaram, Kodambakkam, Nungambakkam, and Chetpet as part of the temporary operational plan.
