Awareness on Sports Injuries Camp held in Nanganallur

An awareness session on “Sports Injuries – How to Prevent & Manage Them” was held on Sunday, December 21, at 6th Main Road, Nanganallur. Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Praveen Ravi (MBBS, MS, DNB–Ortho, FASM, FAOrthA – Australia) addressed participants on key aspects such as injury risk factors, structured training, gradual increase in intensity, the importance of rest days, recognising overtraining, rehabilitation, and knowing when to consult an orthopaedist. A live demonstration by a trained physiotherapist showcased muscle and joint strengthening exercises aimed at injury prevention and long-term fitness.The event was organised by Diha Clinic in association with Pinacle Sports Club. Mr. Rajasekhar, Director of Diha Clinic, Mr. G. Ravindran, Secretary of Lakshmi Nagar Welfare Association, and Mr. Azhagesan, Head of Pinnacle Sports Club, were present and interacted with participants.

Participants, including local athletes and coaches, welcomed the session and described it as timely and informative. Many felt that the practical insights shared on injury prevention, training balance, and recovery would help them approach sports more safely and systematically. The live demonstration was particularly appreciated for translating medical advice into simple, usable practices that can be followed during regular training routines.
